A classical tabla virtuoso, Ustad Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa hails from the Farukabad Gharana. Initiated into this instrument at the age of seven, Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa obtained a strong grounding from his illustrious father, the late Ustad Mohamed Jaan Khan Saheb and later strengthened his skills under the tutelage of his legendary uncle, late “Padma Bushan Ustad Ahmed Jaan Thirakwa Khan Saheb.”
Besides performing as an established solo percussionist, Ustad Rashid Mustafa Thirakwa has accompanied the most eminent Hindustani classical artists of India since last 30 years.
