Poly Varghese is a renowned Mohan Veena (slide guitar) artist and a disciple of the maestro of Mohan Veena and Grammy Award winner Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Hailing from Thrissur, Poly Varghese took his initial lessons in Mridangam from Kalamandalam before joining Visva-Bharati in Kolkata under the tutelage of Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt. Ever since, he has been training under Bhatt for over 20 years learning the nuances of the musical instrument. Poly is also well versed in Baul music besides Rabeendra Sangeet and Sufi music. He is also a theatre personality, a music director and an actor.
