Dariya Daulat Bagh, Srirangapatna Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan
Daria Daulat Bagh literally meaning 'Garden of the sea of wealth' is where the wooden summer palace of Tipu Sultan is located amidst beautiful gardens, in Srirangapatna near Mysore, Karnataka. Mostly made of teak wood, the palace built in 1784 by Tipu Sultan, is located in an island in the Kaveri river. The palace museum on the top floor, showcases weapons, furniture, royal ornaments, dresses and paintings including those of Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali, and the old Srirangapatna fort which is now in ruins after the British invasion.
