Alif Laila from Bangladesh, now residing in the US, is one among the most impressive female Sitarists. She has performed in numerous places all over the world and recorded with eminent tabla artists.

Born in Dhaka, she was trained by Mir Qasem Khan, nephew of the legendary maestro, Allauddin Khan, in the Maihar-Senia Gharana, a school of Hindustani classical music originating in the northern part of India. A Fine Arts graduate, Alif has won accolades for her water colour paintings, and her numerous audio visual productions & recordings. In 2015, she opened a music school 'Sitar Niketan' in Washington DC, giving training to students which encompasses her dream of a world resonating the beauty of sitar.
