A handsome musician, he is a direct descendent of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma and shares the name of the king-composer. Though the Travancore royal family had no dearth for musicians, he is the first public performer. He has mesmerized audiences both in the country and abroad and performed in all prestigious venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall where his maiden CD was released. He is a Carnatic vocalist, Veena artist, and a teacher who also gives lecture demonstrations on Carnatic music per se at various institutions in India & abroad. A unique quality in him is that he never forgets to appreciate the accompanists when they excelled, giving sufficient opportunities, which wisely extracts the best from them.
