Alaka Nandy is a famous Dhrupad singer and the disciple of famous Dhrupad maestro Ustad Nasir Aminuddin Dagar. She was born in 1939 in Orissa and even from her childhood days, she was exposed to music. After her initial training in music from Shanti Niketan, she joined Ustad Nasir Moinuddin Dagar Dhrupad Sangeet Ashram, Kolkata for further studies and she is now the Ashram guru.
