Nirupama and Rajendra, the wife and husband dance duo, have carved a niche for themselves in the artistic world for their versatility and creativeness. Trained in the classical Indian dance forms of both Kathak and Bharatnatyam their performances have been lauded both in India and abroad. They specialize in dance choreography and create works that fuse styles from ethnic to modern featuring creative expressions from Indian classical to the contemporary. Their performances have been termed as truly, a connoisseur's delight. Expressing her pride in being a Kathak performer hailing from the South of India, Nirupama feels the knowledge of other classical dance forms prevalent here, definitely has an influence on her movements. Rajendra exhibits a great, yet rare quality in male dancers. Though he mirrors the steps of his female-counterpart, each step bears a distinct mark of masculinity. It is indeed heartening to see a male dancer who doesn't mimic feminine movements.
