Santhosh Echikkanam is a popular contemporary writer associated with Malayalam literature. His stories are realistic and speak about the common people. In 2008 his short story ‘Komala’ earned him Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award. Many of his screenplays have also been commercially and critically successful.
