Madhumita Roy is well known Kathak dancer who was born into a musical family. She got her advanced training under the guidance of the famous Kathak maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj. She is a top grade artist of Doordarshan. She has performed inside and outside the country and with this experience she has established an institution called ‘Ghungroo’ in Kolkata, which is widely accepted as a centre for Kathak.
