Liver Beetroot Roast Recipe
Liver (Beef) - 1/2 kg
Pepper powder - 2 tbsp + 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - of 1 lemon
Garam masala (Raw) - 1/2 tbsp
Onion - 2 nos
Beetroot - 1 nos
Chilly powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - a sprig
Oil - 3-4 tbsp
Marinate medium cuts of liver along with 2 tbsp pepper powder, 1 tbsp salt, 1 tsp turmeric and juice of a lemon for 30 mins.
Heat oil in a pan and add the marinated liver. Saute well and close the pan with a lid for 8 to 10 minutes.
Once the liver is semi cooked, open the lid, add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and saute well till the liver gets fried. Then transfer it to a platter and keep it aside.
Now heat some more oil in the same pan and add raw garam masala, cumin (1/4 tsp), cinnamon (2-3"pieces) into it and saute well.
Now add chopped onion and saute till it softens, and later add chopped beetroot and again saute well for some time.
Then add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, pepper powder and mix well. Then add 1 cup of water and again mix well. Now close the lid for 8 to 10 minutes and wait till it gets cooked.
Now open the lid and add the fried liver, mix well and again close the pan for some more time.
Now open the lid, add some chopped coriander leaves, mix well, transfer to a serving bowl. Serve hot.
